School Policies
WWHS will strictly enforce the Camden City School District’s unauthorized possession of non-related paraphernalia policy (code 5132 in the Code of Conduct).

Students are to leave their cell phones and electronics at home.


1st offense – cell phone/item is confiscated immediately and returned to student at the end of the day.

2nd offense – cell phone/item is confiscated immediately and returned to a verified guardian or emergency contact only, with ID, and during the hours of 4:30-5:30 on Mondays; 3:30-5:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays; 3:30-4:30 on Fridays.

3rd offense – per the District policy, the phone will be confiscated immediately and held for 60 days. Student will serve a Saturday administrative detention.

4th offense – phone/item will be returned at the end of the school year, and student will receive a full day suspension.


Please be reminded that:
  • All students will enter through Wilson’s cafeteria metal detectors and be subject to a drug, weapons, and electronics search.
  • After 9:00AM, students must enter through the main entrance and will be searched using manual detectors.
  • Electronic devices brought to school and detected by our metal detectors will be confiscated, logged, and the student will be subject to the above consequences.
  • Any staff member who witnesses a student with a cell phone throughout the school day will alert security/main office and student will be removed and addressed for a cell phone violation.
Benefits of this policy
  • Cell phones are associated with planned and recorded fights on the way to school and during the school day.
  • Cell phones are a huge distraction for our students, and we want ALL of our students college and career-ready.
  • Cell phones have been associated with doors being opened for unauthorized individuals from the community.
  • An enormous amount of instructional time is wasted daily as a result of cell phones.
  • Cell phones have been associated with during school cyber bullying and immediate posts to Facebook and Twitter.

School-based youth services (SBYS) will provide monitored use of school phones to support students with extenuating circumstances that require the immediate attention of parents. An example would be a student who is a parent, or a student who must check in at the end of the day before walking home.
